DRAINAGE

Cleaning & Repairs

Leaving blocked drains unaddressed can cause inconvenience and costly repairs. At The Little Plumber, we keep your drainage systems free from clogs and functioning efficiently, to prevent any potential property damage that blockages can cause. Blocked drains are often caused by the accumulation of things such as hair, food waste, dust and debris, or poor installation. Build up of foreign objects can clog your pipes, cause blockages and can eventually result in more major damage. If you notice any of these signs, it’s time for professional help:

  • Foul odours
  • Gurgling noise in your pipes, showers, sinks or baths
  • Slow-draining sinks
  • Grime build up

Neglecting blocked drains can damage your property and your health. Harmful bacteria can lead to contaminated water backing up, potentially impacting your health. If blocked drains are not cleaned properly the water can become stagnant, attracting insects and pests and allowing mould and mildew to grow.

Drain Cleaning Solutions

There are many ways to unclog a drain. With our effective drain cleaning methods suitable for any size of drains, we will have them working like new again. We carry a range of specialised tools such as:

  • Pipe cameras – for drain inspections and determining the location of the blockage. These are particularly useful for pipes installed under concrete slabs and behind walls.
  • Electric eels – for seamless removal of blockages with no digging required. Steel rods and rotating heads are used to clear obstructions from stormwater drains.
  • Drain augers – for clearing small sewer pipes, blocked drains and sinks.
  • Hydro jets – for cleaning large sewer pipes and stormwater drains through high-pressure water.

Dealing With Burst Pipes

Another common drainage problem we often see is burst pipes, this can be caused by old pipes that have become brittle, or accidentally breaking a pipe while digging or landscaping. If you have noticed water seepage through the ground, suspect you may have accidentally broken a pipe, or the property is older and still has the original pipes, we can arrange a thorough inspection before the problem becomes more serious. Give us a call if you notice any of the following signs:

  • Wet patches in walls or ceilings
  • Dripping or gurgling sounds
  • Muddy patches
